Ashton Stewart began his study of the guitar at the age of ten. Under the guidance of Red Shea (Gordon Lightfoot’s esteemed guitarist), he received First Class Honour Awards for his accomplishments at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada. After moving to Nashville, Tennessee, Ashton continued his education in music at the prestigious Vanderbilt University during his high school years.
With a colorful repertoire in hand, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to further his career as a musician. From art exhibits in Manhattan Beach, events at the University of Southern California, and performances in the heavily jazz influenced section of Los Angeles, Leimert Park; Ashton has had the opportunity to showcase his musical diversity. He has also played at weddings and corporate events at venues such as the Beverly Hills Hotel, the Hollywood Park race track and Descanso Gardens. In addition, Ashton Stewart was the featured guitarist at the Hollywood landmark restaurant, Antonio’s, where he played weekly from 2001 until his move to New York City in the summer of 2005.
Since his arrival in the city, Ashton has met with much success. He continues performing at private events and an authentic French restaurant in Astoria, NY has already made Ashton their resident musician on Friday nights. The unique French countryside theme of this restaurant has provided a fabulous setting for Ashton’s classical guitar performances. In addition, Ashton is playing special events at El Parador in Manhattan, known for being the best and oldest Mexican restaurant in the area.
Do you need a professional performer for your next special occasion? Ashton regularly performs classical guitar pieces at wedding ceremonies, receptions, galleries, and corporate events.
