 Jon Doty has performed with a diverse list of Jazz and contemporary artists including Stanley Cowell, Ron Carter, Vernon Reid, Bob Baldwin, Jeff Redd, Michael Hill, and Sonny Sharrock. He has also studied with an array of master musicians such as Michael Carvin, Jim Price and Joe Chambers.
As a leader, Jon released the critically acclaimed "Until The Last Star Is Out" in 2003 which features his Quintet and nine original compositions. When not leading his own band he can be heard throughout the NYC area in a variety of styles from Jazz trio to R&B to big band Jazz with artists like the grammy nominated guitarist Gil Parris, R&B band The Might Ones, the Kenny Lee quintet, The Benson/Scott big band, Dennis Winge, and many others. Jon is a superb band leader and highly creative musician. No matter the size of the ensemble Jon is directing, the sound is sure to be incredible as he works with only the highest caliber of musician. If traditional Jazz is your thing, look no further. |
